TESTIMONIALS

Just wanted to say Thank You!  Kudos to both Diane (Shem Creek/Crab Bank Island) and John (Wambaw Swamp).  Both guides were excellent, informative, competent, and willing to share their love and knowledge of the area.  I thoroughly enjoyed both trips.  Hopefully I'll be back soon to explore some more. Oh yeah, and the weather was perfect, too.  Thanks again. Sandi Collins

South Bend, IN----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------- We had a great time kayaking with you! Elizabeth was a> wonderful guide! We'll definitely book kayaking with you> guys again on our next trip to Charleston. > > Thanks so very much!!! Susan Barton > > --- On Fri, 5/22/09,----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I visited the Charleston area last weekend and one of my favorite parts of the trip was the kayak outing with Nature Adventures. Your son, Tillman, was our guide and he was wonderful.  Tillman was patient and helpful in terms of instruction on paddling, encouraging when I was tired, and extremely knowledgeable about the natural wildlife and birds. I learned a lot!  I understand he ‘grew up’ in the business and he definitely follows your motto, “kill ‘em with kindness” and made all of us feel very comfortable. I was impressed with his level of professionalism at such a young age too.  I would recommend your company to anyone interested in such adventures without hesitation. Tillman is a great representative and I wanted to be sure to tell you!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the whole trip, our guide maintained a constant and charming patter that mixed useful hints for correcting our paddling styles, wonderful bits of local history, and all kinds of fascinating lore about the flora and fauna that slipped by as we tried to master her suggestions.  She easily identified the stuff that each of us was drawn to and so managed to have something for everybody at most turns.     Jim Nechas

Kathie,

Thank you. I have called several outfits and yours by far is the most professional of all of them in South Carolina!  Bravo for customer service. For that, you get my business! Even if I have to drive a couple hours, it’s worth it.

When I first conceived of a class on ecology and culture that would feature a week-long kayaking trip to the South Carolina Low Country, I discovered Nature Adventures Outfitters, and I am so very lucky that I did.  Kathie Livingston has been a tremendous resource and partner for the five years I have been offering my class.  She has been invaluable in helping me plan experiences that students love and learn from, and she goes out of her way to help me and the students, both while we are planning each year's course and when we visit South Carolina each May.  She reassures students who are ill, she is flexible enough to allow me to change my plans as contingencies arise, she has arranged catered meals for the classes, ferried gear to Capers Island, helped me find and secure camp sites, and is always there on the other end of the cell phone when I have a problem or a question.  She has also introduced my classes to wonderfully knowledgeable and skilled guides, who entertain, teach, and embody the Low Country to many of my students. She and her guides are great teachers, and my students and I have learned so much about the swamps, marshes, and beaches of the Low Country from them. Nature Adventures Outfitters and Kathie are Low Country treasures, and I know my association with them is at the heart of the success of my course.  --Robert E. Burkholder, Associate Professor of English, Penn State, University Park, PA       May, 2008

****The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking adventure.  I'm not sure what I liked most, the Wambaw swamp, or the Sewee Indian Ruins, both were terrific. We can't say enough about Bob who guided us both days.  He was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor and was concerned about our safety, and wanted to make sure we had a good time, which we did.  Don't lose him!

Jack & Marge, Joe & Michelle, October, 2007

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

***It all went fabulously well.   Bob is wonderful leader and great with children.  He tactfully took special care to help one of our more difficult little girls with attitude adjustment.  Because of his attitude and input, she did enjoy the adventure.  We love Bob……Scout Troop, 2007

****"I wanted to tell you upfront that I'm usually not the most complementary person. Having said that, more than 24 hours since I received your last two emails, your customer service is still amazing to me. Your customer service is real, it's genuine and it's helpful. I know I told you this yesterday, but I can't let it go. I have to tell you again. You have given better and more helpful customer service than every other kayak place combined that I've ever contacted in NC or SC. I know thank you isn't enough, but I can't think of anything else better to say, but thank you again!"

****"Hi Kathie, I just wanted to thank you for such a great course yesterday. Being a safety manager and having taught classes, I tend to be critical of instructors...and you were great! Very professional, knowledgeable, and genuine. I had a blast and can't wait to take another class!" 2006 Julia Olson

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"****Dear Nature Adventures, Margi and I are going to come back next March and do another kayaking trip with you. First time ever, we have decided to go back to the same area. That speaks very highly of you and the time we had kayaking with you on the Wambaw, as well as the Village B&B & Cherie as hostess. It was a real pleasure for the two of us to make your acquaintance and tap into your vast knowledge of the outdoor world around us." Ruth A Rogers 2003
